Squale is slightly moving away from their homage style watch.

Squale are OGs and still make several classic models (like the 1521, Squalematic etc), it always felt a bit beneath them making sub and GMT homages. Would be happy if they sack those off entirely.

Its a long-shot but has anyone bought a watch from antique-watch-japan via eBay? They have consistently good reviews and supply quality photos etc. I've struggled to find this reference in good condition (in gold) at the right price for a good while now hence why i'm resorting to the bay. Just wondered if anyone has come across them before.

Thick jumpers indoors, is the heating broken?

I’m not turning the heating on, managed to get an extra £10 from the government cause our bill is less than the support

I wish I could work out buyee etc... That's a bargain. You could flip that for a decent profit.

Not sure if anyone’s into coffee table books but Blurb have a 25% off Black Friday deal. Weak justification to splurge but it’s cheaper than collecting watches.

I have had my early 70s speedking ref 6430 which my dad got for his 21st for nearly 4 years now. Can’t get rid of it and glad I was convinced not to (own family papers, box and history).
However, never bloody wear it because it is 30.5mm (if I am being generous). It is gorgeous though. Maybe been worn 3x this year. Wearing an alkin model 1 daily.

I’d like to aim for a nicer daily. Looking at a 34mn 14010/14010m air king. Can’t afford an explorer 1. Think 34mm is a nice size. Would be less precious with it. Is that stupid?

I am all for small watches, and while I don't think your 6430 is too small, it is definitely on the small side for your wrist. A 34mm Air-King is a great shout. Though, I'd always be tempted to spend a bit extra and get a 1601/1603 - 36mm, though, but that wouldn't be an issue with your wrist.
