Half link bodge lasted the life of the chain. Long pins made of stainless. Defo better than the single half links you can buy.

How exactly did you make and insert those pins? And how did they last so long? Sorry if I missed a previous explanation.

They are stainless bar. Cut them to length, inserted then hammered the end to flatten it slightly so it cant fall out.

Ice cream stick light mount is the best bodge I’ve seen for a long time. Fantastic work.

Not so much a hack or a bodge, but on my way to work this morning this happened. So serious bodging was required. Suboptimal.

Is it to hold up a deliveroo bag?
A guy came in last week looking for a used road bike, asked why, uber, suggested maybe try this decent hybrid instead, he said it looked like his grans bike so auto no thanks.
Suggo he tried new to him road position with a bag with only 5kg in it, and ride around a bit.
He bought the granny hybrid. -

It's a play on having 'no backbone' or a coincidence?

My buddy has a newer Raleigh with an eccentric BB. The bike has not lived a nice life and has all kinds of little issues. While trying to make some other repairs, one of the bolts froze and broke in the eccentric BB. Fortunately I was able to extract the broken portion. A new eccentric BB was $60 and it was difficult to source a replacement bolt. So I found another m4 bolt, found some little nuts that I filed down to fit inside the shell, and plan to red loc-tite the little assembly together when it's together.

Don’t think I’ve posted this hack yet. Use for cloth or cork tape. Loose/nearly snug zip tie keeps things from unravelling and allows easy wrapping. At the end use a pick or blade to open the zip tie and reuse.
