Nah these were fancy high end maxxterra 4k HDR etc etc in 2019. I found a few other folk on the internets saying they had experienced similar with maxxis tyres. It was such a small amount coming through that I don't think it was really having any negative effect.
It's definitely not unique to Maxxis tbf. I think it depends on the particular casing, exo, dd etc -
• #25378
I thought this was normal haha. My tyres also do this in many spots
-
• #25379
It's a feature, when they stop seeping you need to add more sealant.
-
• #25380
Maxxis, yeah. They seem to hold air ok so I'll probably just leave them.

These are Maxxis Ardent Race 3CS/EXO/TR 120 TPI so not crazy money but I don't think they're the low end version either.

That's actually quite clever :)
We need tyres with windows!!

Conclusion: You have other things to worry about you fat fuck, just leave the tyres alone.

None of my Maxxis, or Michelin, leak, but I’ve not seen it be an issue on tyres that do so other than it looks a bit uggers.

Anyone used Ergon saddles?
https://bikepacking.com/gear/ergon-smc-core-saddle-review/
@skinny was it Fizik Terra you use? Which version?
-
• #25387
Argo. Same I gave you but off road version which has dropped nose.
For me it's the perfect saddle. With pressure mapping from science 2 sport
-
• #25388
Ah, yep, Fizik Terra Argo is what I'd looked for. I might give the X5 a go then. Spanks.

Ergon SMC Sport Gel was a lifechanger for me.
I can sit on it, without any annoying lycra crap, for at least 8 hours on the MTB.
It's not exactly expensive and the manufacturers are extremely responsible. -

Interesting. I'd love to do away with a chamois. However gel makes me nervous, I had it once in bibshorts and in the heat it evaporated after a few days in TCR. Didn't go well. Wonder if it'd be different in a saddle.

can't say I've had any issues at all in the heat
I have the syntace hiflex seatpost as well which adds some lovely squish -
• #25393
Thanks maybe I'll get one to try.
I didn't know of that syntace before. Interesting too.
-
• #25394
yeah the syntace is great - super dependable and a 10 year warranty!
have had no issues running it hard and attaching bags to it -
• #25395
I have Ergon saddles on all my bikes- get on with them really well.

That post was on my list from this article few years ago. I think Lael Wilcox mentioned using one as well
http://www.cyclingabout.com/seatposts-overlooked-yet-critical-for-cycling-comfort/
At the time it was spendy and I couldn't find any stockists. I ended up getting the Spesh COBL GOBLR instead. I now have an eeSilk on my gravel bike which I like. Thinking about getting one for the hardtail too. Tempted to try the bigger shock posts (Thudbuster) but worried about the amount of movement they'd have during actual pedaling (that 1% of time I'm not walking or coasting)
It was Lael, in TransAm, she regretted NOT using her Syntace post:

your a gravel bike
My girlfriends Hans Dampf is always covered in little damp patches of sealant, doesn't seem to be an issue for the air retention.
