That’s really kind of you, thank you! I really think we’re capturing the goal of it feeling like an old house rather than a new build, the stove really helps with that I think?
@JurekB it was a combo of building regulations not being as intense (and therefore cheaper to build) for non living areas and not wanting to have lithium batteries in the house. Them going on fire is super scary, the joiner is on the fire brigade here and said they create their own oxygen so feed themselves.
@stevo_com oh I know right, there’s something kind of magical walking around in that light isn’t there?
@ltc that is a massive compliment, thank you so much. Smug is definitely not what I’ve ever aimed for, been homeless before and spent lots of time certain I’d die in a rattle damp single glazed hovel before so feel intensely fortunate for this opportunity!
@andyp it is a fun wee couple hour cycle round here, plenty of space for setting up some tents for the night too
@jonny cheers bud! It does feel like such a huge step forward using the space almost like we will when it’s done rather than going up there purely to paint or tile or … it really was a lift that we both needed to maintain momentum right now.
Talking about that, we’ve got things measured out for starting on the bathroom tiling tomorrow. I had meant to do that today, but the weather was dry and in November you have to take advantage of that up here! We brought a couple other bits of furniture in, that desk was my gran’s work desk that she was allowed to keep when she retired. That cleared enough space in the container to put all the extra cladding that had been lying in the workshop into there, and that let me really give the workshop a tidy.
