Is it an issue with the hub bearings having too much play?

Lightest set I have built for a while; 990 without tapes.
Quite a lot lighter than stock / stock superlight.
Need to find a good source of double butted short spokes.. also mulling a spoke cutter purchase

I seem to have lost my cable gatherer -- anyone have any spares?

Haha cause I took the cables apart …
Need to do another search of the shed floor …
Is it … essential?

It’s kinda essential..

that's fun - what do you think max load there is - could a kid stand on it !?

This light works quite well I think. I run a bag all the time so easier to have it up top than scrabbling around with the one on the brake bracket.

Perfect for kids standing on the way to school.
I put griptape on top of the tube but this would have been ace.

12mm birch ply; from using this in my campervan, its bloody tough stuff, I cant see why not, VS dont list a weight guide; I think id be fine with my 5 year old on it

Interesting. I'm currently struggling getting child to nursery and cycling because a 2 year old who wants to walk/be carried is hard work whilst also pushing/carrying a brompton.

That Dutch chap Eerder Metaal does these in metal as well

Yep, Vincent has been making them for a while, very smart, almost too over engineered in a way.. 95euro too

I nearly bought one, then Brexit then he was out of stock, then they went up in price.

Try this too...which is an alternative to the pere adaptor and much cheaper (and probably safer).
The pere adaptor is just 3 pieces of metal welded and is wildy overpriced so stick it on an ebay/gumtree search and hold out for a cheap listing as I did. The criticisms of the pere still remain though regarding lack of restraint and lack of a holding bar. My 3 yr old loves riding the pere though!

Looking for advice from Brompton owners over 190cm or 100kg, looking at getting a C Line Explore through C2W, I'm on the limit of recommended height and weight for the bike but can't find any folding bikes offering higher limits.
Do you notice any issues as a bigger rider - frame/wheels components?
Do you find the bike comfortable? I'd be doing some longer journeys so don't want to be in pain on a ride (anymore so than usual)
Do you use the telescopic seat post? I've had issues with these in the past, does the Brompton one stay in place?

If you can, try a test ride. Brompton in Covent Garden were very happy to let me try one, just had to leave my credit card with them.

That’s fucking rancid..

I echo this, I wanted to give them a go but my c2w scheme wasn't supported by them, that being said they were willing to let me try whichever bike I wanted, and even encouraged me to try a few others whilst I was there. I stopped by one evening after work.

They do now, just make sure you get the bike checked thoroughly when you get it.
Them offering C2W is not a good thing, good for them only, their margin on bikes are so low, after the C2W commission cut, shops loose money.
Pretty much squeezing out small independents and going direct BUT happy to let Evans and Halfords sell in bulk.
This is not new, in the height of the pandemic, we got our allocation slashed to 3 for the year (Yup, 3 for the year!) and I sent a customer to +sbbohr to get their bike.
3 bikes a year, let that sink in.
Up, down, side to side! Let's get jiggy with it! ;)
