10-speed Rival is definitely heavier spring than Shimano. I like SRAM but my main argument against it is you can’t shift easily when braking and it needs a lot of moving your hands around. Shimano is a LOT better for commuting in traffic, for example. For weekend rides, though, I still like SRAM.
