Our dog and I have an agreement where she just balances on the front and I don’t break too hard.
We use a harness with a carabiner attaching her to a slack bungee and that means she knows where the middle of the rack is. Sometimes she stands up but mostly she sits or lays down, for long days I put a small bed pillow thing down for her as it is more comfortable.
She is very chill but also I think it’s not super hard to train a dog to enjoy it, it’s like having their head permanently out of a window, encouraging them to sit on it whilst it’s stopped, giving them chew treats to focus on whilst riding are both helpful things. Also our dog doesn’t think she can get off of the bike she always has to be lifted off.
