What we're uncovering here is not that Keith is a slur at all. It's actually a compliment.
That it's perceived as a slur would appear to betray an innate lack of self-belief.
Keiths are cool, clearly. If you think it's an insult, you should go out and meet more Keiths.

Not that I would wish to tar all Keiths with the same brush, but it's seen as a bit of a wet/nondescript/middle management kind of name.
I only know one Keith too and he's a lead guitarist in a pub rock band, so...
