My plans on how to get to Chingford are still in flux actually, so I will have to confirm, but it should be a 30/40min ride from there, so 10.15ish?

i need to change my innertube for tomorrow, it's touch and go if i do
-
• #204
Sounds like the sort of job you should leave until tomorrow morning
-
• #205
It's the only way.

• #207
oh shit i need to sort out my howling brakepads
-
• #209
Brakes? I thought Epping was flat?
-
• #210
it's actually quite helpful to keep the group together as you can follow the howls of brakepads

I’m riding a gravel bike with 40c tyres, and I’m pretty sure I have a +1 coming who may be underestimating the task at hand and is bringing a surly straggler with full mudguards
-
• #212
They might be quieter in the wet

full mudguards
Carry a stick, to occasionally fish the leaves out :-)

surly straggler with full mudguards
Was contemplating that, but has 28s slicks on at the moment, had it not rained..

• #215
I should indeed tell them but I fear it will lead to their abandoning of the plan and force me to do the same - is that cruel
-
• #216
Could always take the guards off
I'd be more concerned about if they're using road tyres, as you can only really get away with using those in the summer

• #217
i have changed my inner tube and found the tiny pointy thorn which caused the slow leak, expect to wake up tomorrow to it flat
tubeless lovers, feel free to smile with smugness

We can only do that until we realise our sealant dried up months ago

but has 28s slicks on at the moment
Cuts through the mud like butter etc, etc...

@Scott-Menzies can confirm I will be meeting you lot at Chingford.
I think some people might be interested in riding up from Hollow Pond/Whipps Cross. If anyone needs a route, this is a classic way out, mostly straightforward trails to find

i will be riding some variation of this to get there but likely much slower than you
-
• #222
I wouldn't fancy trying to ride on butter
-
• #223
Has anyone got a spare front mudguard I can borrow? Mudhugger or something. Pls and thank you
-
• #224
joining the plastic talisman crew - does the function of this bit of plastic outweigh its looks? should i slide it up a bit? am i over reacting to the mud?
