Wouldn’t be shocked if Johnson did stand again, he’s so detached from actual reality after all the nonsense he produced when he was in

So...Johnson is going to be PM again. Its the strongest argument they have for avoiding a GE. This is why Brady is saying they will probably let members have the final say imho. We know they would choose Johnson...polls have been showing that for weeks.
This is the one scenario I hadn't thought about. He's their least bad option for them. Their only roll to avoid a GE. But its still civil war territory.

As in civil war in the Tory party, not actual civil war.

I’ve just read all the replies in the past 15 minutes or so.
I honestly do think Boris could actually be making a return as PM.
Can you imagine what the rest of the world thinks about the UK right now?
Words defy me really.
Has there ever been a time before with so many consecutive fuck ups like this. We’re a total laughing stock.I’m at the point now that I genuinely want/hope my own children leave the UK when they can. Although I’d guess that by the time they are old enough, the UK won’t be a country.

Yeah I reckon this is a very strong possibility.
But I think that one way or another there’s going to be GE by the end of the year 🤞

We’re over in Seville watching this nonsense. Would love to live over here, happy welcoming people and fresh, good value food and drink.
My 12 year old wants to live here but we had to explain how difficult that would be now we’ve left the EU...😢 -

Honestly after the carnage Johnson had its bonkers he's potentially gonna get another shot after fucking it previous and then not basically going back in while travelling round america on mega money personal speaking engagements and to the Caribbean on holiday.
This is absolutely insane

I know. It's completely bonkers. Ronald McDonald could be the new PM by the weekend and I wouldn't be surprised.

He also led them to this point. He would be like a sugar rush for a few months, then eventually carry on sinking them, but they are addicted to him. Like that woman he gave computer lessons to and Nadine Dorries.

From memory I think Johnson had the lowest ever public approval rating for a sitting PM on the day he resigned. While there are some loud voices who love him, there are many more who dont.
-
• #1113
Lowest ever until Truss that is.

I'd be up for civil war tbh.

Boris comes back. Charles rejects his application. Charles dissolves Parliament. We have another civil war to sort it all out. Done.
Gammon vs Tofu - we've even got the sides.

why would anyone pay him to speak? i mean, he's not very good at it is he?
i could understand people paying him to not speak... -
• #1117
How can Johnson come back with an investigation pending over him?
-
• #1118
And have to pick between Bojo and Charles? No thanks.

List?

Max chaotic result - Boris runs, wins, forced to resign when found guilty.
-
• #1121
Theres always the Covenanters?
-
• #1122
Yep and the investigation has just announced it is going to be sitting longer than planned as some many people have come forward wanting to give evidence
-
• #1123
I think a Johnson come back is A) possible B) kills the calls for General Election and C) he could bloody win in 18 months time.
Worst possible outcome for Labour IMO.
-
• #1124
I think Boris is the best chance for Labour as the electorate would have to forget his lies as well as Liz’s nonsense.
Dishy might be able to convince everyone of competence in the next 2 years.

I have a sinking feeling this is easier done than said, if you'll forgive my intentionally mixed up phrasing
Oh Lordy. The past week for me has been a nightmare with work and a wedding that I was forced to attend.
You can’t imagine how much this has cheered me up. Absolute hilarity.
