“ Liz Truss accidentally abstained in the fracking vote because she forgot to tap her card on the card reader in the parliamentary lobby.“

Truss not voting is hilarious.
-
• #829
Somehow, this is all Ed Milliband's fault
-

Guardian reporting that Truss didn't vote in this fracking thing. I'm not really understanding what's going on, but that seems... odd

So presumably has to now sit as an independent? Or one rule for thee …?
Or maybe she has transcended peak knowledge and has no confidence in herself?

OMG yes

Still baffled by that vote - how did the Tories end up with a bigger majority than they have on paper? Was there no pairing? According to this, only Tories voted with the Noes - so where were all the other bits of opposition?

True, the writers of The Thick Of It wouldn't have dared to script this level of crass stupidity and incompetence. HIGNFY will be replaced with live feeds from Government.

We may not have a government by Friday night at this rate.

• #838
An end to be devoutly hoped for.

I think the majority is bigger because the Tories were on a 3-line whip up until the last minute, so nearly every MP will have voted, but this not the case for opposition parties so they will have had a lower turnout

This is well worth a watch

Will there be anyone left to underline the whip even once now the shits have deserted the sinking rat?

• #843
Braver man sacked. Hahahaha

A sentient Tory MP. Wow.

When something remotely sensible happens, just watch all memory of this episode in the press and Parliament all piss away in the wind

• #847
36 Conservatives didn't vote though?

Would the last person still pretending to be in government please turn off the light when they leave
They don't need to if there is a massive power cut.

Why have so many not voted, Rayner was there today front and centre could she not be arsed.
Mhairi black another waste of a seat, she’s stealing a wage.
This is the job they are employed to do by the public and all this list shows is they cannot be fucked

The government is like a washing machine on spin cycle with a brick inside.
Several have publicly said they wanted to vote against but weren't prepared to annul their 1922 letter when they had whip removed.
