Without VAR Gabriel's red card would have stood and he'd be serving a 3 match ban.

Sheff Utd v Blackpool looked pretty entertaining at the weekend. 2-0 to 2-3, two players sent off for Blackpool, missed a penalty and then a 99th minute equaliser for Sheff Utd and then their keeper and a Blackpool player sent off after the final whistle.
Anyway, nearly a third of the way through, only one defeat and top of the league for Burnley. Entirely did not expect that, after selling and buying a new team in the summer and completely changing our style of play I thought that top ten at this point would be doing OK.
Top with less than 1.8 pts/game really shows how open it all is in the Championship. No idea how the rest of the season will pan out.

Yeah, but it was mostly a red card...
And delaying a game for 40 minutes, and failing to pick out the offside prior to the penalty, for its general malign influence... It's shit.

Twitter rumours Gerrard has beaten Truss to the exit. Poch in?

Villa were good against Chelsea. Way better performance than against forest earlier in the week. 50p head mings, couple of worldies from Kepa and class free kick from mount the difference.
Gerrard should probably have gone by now. Guess it can wait until you lose against the second west london team in a week

Truss in at Villa?

A preferable option to literally anyone else in the party, TBH. Reckon he'd keep us up.

Boooo! Maybe only a few more days following a dreary 1-1 with Fulham.

You think they’ll score?!?!

It’s a race against time anyway, Truss v Gerrard v Lettuce

Actual football chat, got the chance of some 5-a-side locally and I've not played in 8 years. Can anyone recommend a knee support?

One of these. Plonk your arse in it, and stay the hell off the pitch if you value your ligaments. -

This Spurs kit reminds me of the custom kit generator on Kick Off 2 on the Commodore Amiga.

21 years of 5-a-side twice or more a week. Ligaments mostly all intact (did have an avulsion fracture a while ago) but it's now probably twice a year I hear the popping sound of someone's knee going and never appearing on the pitch again.

don’t wear one dude. warm up and stretch properly. And liberal dose of Deep Heat rubbed in to the knees.
shoulders back. smash it

It was the "haven't played for 8 years" bit that chimed with me.

If I'm being totally clear it's "8 years ago when I damaged my knee ligaments playing football" Basically not played since, but not just because of the knee, that is. Moved towns, had kids etc. Used to play 4 times a week (occasionally 5 with a 5-a-side followed by a 7 a side on the same night) but I've always been one-paced and shit so I'm not going to have lost too much. I just don't want to damage my knee so I can't ride.

It's going to fucking hurt the day after. And the one after that. And the one after that. You'll feel about right 5 days later. Before playing again and repeating the cycle.
-
• #162597
Ah yes, I remember that. Goes away after you play weekly for a few months. I’m considering employing Keith Baar’s gelatine protocol pre-game for ligament strengthening.

Is 15mins to early to say Gerrard out?
-

It’s never too early for Gerrard out.
Yeah not sure Leeds were robbed but totally took the game to Arsenal and might have easily got something out of that.
Bamford not getting penalty on target. That Forest pen miss in the week. the teams are already feeling pressure of relegation battle and we are in October.
