lol - if you penalised every rider who did that, there’d be no riders left at the end of every stage race. It happens all the time. Nibali was unlucky because he got filmed doing it.

I'm sure they all do it to get back to the peloton but he was filmed doing it to go from a chasing group back to the front group while they were already going quick.

You never see people pulled from one group to the next though; bridging a small gap to get back into the group is one thing, this is absolutely another
