  • Well deserved ;-) how large is yours btw? (Frame 🤡)

Sorry for being lazy but do you have a link to that file? Would be much awesome!

  • In the meantime.. below a nice impression from the Adriatic sea at 6:30am

The great thing about early rides is that even if the route is shit and/or unspectacular, its always the time of the day itself which makes every ride special because its so astonishingly quiet 😌

Bike is now perfectly dialed in and it feels very well tailored, especially when going some aero KMs using the hoods like barends.

And it feels so much nicer than the allez sprint (where I had to go 90mm stem to achieve this fit!) in so many ways:

    • direct mount brakes so much more precise than single mount
    • 50mm roval wheels so much smoother (and lighter) than the 62mm reynolds
    • 11 vs 10 speed
    • Inner cables run so much smoother than with the allez sprint (which also had the insanely stupid routing around the BB shell)
    • luckily zero setback SP came directly with the bike from previous owner
    • Much more flexy in total (frame plus seatpost i guess)
    • Aesthetically much more balanced imho, plus no bent TT
    • Much cheaper :-D

I still cant believe that I saved a couple hundreds comparing the sale price of the allez sprint (split) with the purchase price for this thing herrr

Oh and also switched to tubolitos 😮‍💨 weight is front wheel including tire, tube, QR (air lol)

  • This gen Tarmacs are the best really. Future classics. I don't do road bikes, but every time I service one and take it for a test ride, I have big doubts about not wanting a road bike.

  • I’m usually not a huge fan of white bikes (and specialized in general) but that turned out great! Really nice proportions and a very clean build. Good to hear it rides just as well as it looks.

  • @Chak many thanks, thats what I was thinking, too when I saw it for the first time in august (before I have not looked into this kind of bike because #unaffordable)

@Sig_Arlecchino I really had to laugh out loud (literally) when I read this because white bikes for me always have/had strong anti potential.

Plus, Specialized for me is, other than its name, not very special but more mass produced random stuff, so on your level here, too

    HOWEVER:

    • color was set as the price is really uncontested (in particular now that I have sold the OSPW)

    • I was not happy with my silver brushed allez in the first place but the longer I owned it the more I enjoyed the neutral color and I can imagine its the same with white, too

    • when I got into road cycling six years ago the budget for my entry bike (the festina s-works, see page 1) was 500€ and this was the best I could get at the time plus I found out that it (allegedly) was the first CAD drawn bike which I found a lovely side fact

    • when i replaced the Festina after 2 years in late 2019 I set myself a 2K budget and the allez sprint was the best I could get back then. When I found out about the hydroformed parts I also found this quite nice (my father developing hydroforming machines for the heavy industry). Plus, aesthetically it was kind of the successor of the festina with its aero tubing and compact, stiff geo

    • now that I had to replace the allez, the Sl6, again, was the best money for value I could imagine plus as you guys noted, the lines and proportions are very well balanced (now, me being #old and look bitta meh on too aeroish bikes) and make a great overall bike which ist agile, fast, stiff and easy to maintenance

So bottom line: even if I am not the biggest SPESH buddy ever, with my three major road bikes being the above described, all of them had something appealing to me (plus always the price argument)

  • ludwigshöhe 😉

  • Beautiful. Where is this?

  • ludwigshöhe, south of munich

  • Thanks. I thought it was UK potentially for a moment. I don't know why but I thought the road looked like it was left lane biased.

  • Thanks @Tom13!

In the meantime i found dive minutes to take photos of the purple M900 which is gone now:

  • Having searched for both for years in the right size/price/condition I could not believe that I was able to score both of them within 48 hours some months ago 👻

Both for sale tho as I do not have the time and resources for proper projects until mid 2023 or so

blue has flaws (lil dent on SS, two spots with corrosion)

Red is pretty much immaculate except for a little allen key drop on the NDS TT

    Cheers

  • How much?

  • Find me a blue 54 and take my money.

  • Almost glad that they're too big for me

  • Dm‘d you w/ pixxx

  • Supertuck meets small ring?
Stunning Dale combo, you should keep them - nothing wrong with a long term project. 2023 will come around in no time.

  • Haha thanks but somehow I cannot keep stuff in my basement for long until it haunts in me 👻👻👻

    Is 52 that small? 😔

  • Nah, I meant the chain is on the inner ring in that photo ;)
I do get the haunting part :D

  • Bahaha yeah I mean it was pointless anyway as it was as flat as it can be. I was probably going 25kmh 😇

  • Hehe, not entirely pointless: it looks fast :)
