  • And @duncs
After much deliberation and faffing around I was convinced I wanted the 11 Pro. And then I realised it’s not 5g compatible. Which is probably more of a stumbling block than the camera stuff. And buying a more recent phone probably fares better for potential resale/longevity.

The next question is what do outdoorsy people use as their phone cover of choice? Was always happy with a glass screen protector and a gel case for my 5s and then SE, but if I’m potentially spending £500 on a phone, I’d quite like to wrap it up a bit better! I’m also an electrician so the phone will be in less than ideal environments for most of its life.

  • I have a 12 mini that lives on building sites without a case. It's got a few dings in the metal surround from falling on harder metal objects but the back and screen are very durable and don't show any signs of wear. I don't ever keep the phone in a pocket with any other stuff.

  • Yeah as @Airhead says, I get the impression that the newest phones are pretty durable and don't need extra fall protection for the glass except in the most extreme of environments.
@Airhead, so you don't have edge protection either, just the bare phone?
