But its 2022!!
I guess I mean warm/muggy? and really it has to be waterproof so I can use as a top layer in winter

Weirdly, by chance at work I asked the wax cotton guys at Halley Stevensons their thoughts and one swore by a wax cotton poncho for hiking.. sounds pretty heavy to me!

Been eyeing up one of these for winter, they talk the talk with the Nikwax

I was thinking about foil poncho. It’s full waterproof however zero breathability. It’s light, cheap and packs small, what’s not to like? I have never tried a wax cotton stuff but it does sound heavy and spacey.

I'm really confused.

The answer is a pub tour by canal boat.

Slightly weird question - I’m attending a memorial for my Dad’s close business partner who passed away at the beginning of this year, it’s at his old Oxford college if that makes an iota of difference. Just a suit, right? Or do people go full black funeral wear for this kind of thing?
-
• #4285
Black suit probably ideal but if not understated number - eg not your previous potential wedding garb
-
• #4286
I'd say a sober suit and an appropriate tie. But not necessarily black suit or black actual tie - seems overly formal unless it's stated, and it's a memorial not a funeral (I'm guessing). People will probably be in a range of styles though!

I wasn’t going to go full-on Ivy League! It’ll be quite an eclectic crowd so thinking either charcoal suit or black jacket/white shirt/dark red knitted or charcoal wool tie. I’ll find out what my pops is wearing too.

Having a clear out and thought there might be some
OCBD white drakes shirts 16 collar going free to a good home (they're worn)
some MHL stuff, Timothy Everest, APC x Carhartt workpants, Edwin jeans etc - all going free
Some nike trainers in size 11.
Will need collecting from Walthamstow. -

not quite sure this question is right for here, but I've asked in the sock thread (yeah I didn't know we had one either),
but I'm on the lookout for some merino no show socks, preferably in white, to replace all the cotton ones I've brought in previous years, which are now stretched out, and are really ankle socks rather than no show. These will be primarily worn with trainers/cycling shoes
Thinking something like this
https://dzrshoes.uk/collections/bike-socks/products/no-show-socks-retro-blueany other alternatives I should be looking at?

Get the darn tough ones. Someone else on here suggested them and I have been really impressed with them and been slowing replacing all my old rapha sample sale socks.

There's definitely a nip in the air all of a sudden. Liking the look of this.

managed to pick up a very similar albam one for £100 last year.
Does anyone want a pair of Orlslow 107's in size 1? £70, hardly worn.

Can anyone help to id this coat?

I can’t but have a very similar vintage Aquascutum trench.
I think Event is pretty good for breathability.
This time of year an umbrella offers the best balance of rain protection and breathability.
