Being the massively pretentious wanker I was at university I got way to into learning tricks with my zippo. Was working in the student union at the time(pre smoking ban) so was a good idle time waster but in hindsight was pretty lame lol…

Key advantage of a Zippo over a Clipper is you can light a mess tin / baked bean can cannon without a jet of fire burning the shit out of your thumb.

I'm gonna dig out my black goth Zippo and get a butane thing, I love the petrol smell but don't smoke regularly enough to use one without being constantly annoyed it's run out in a drawer.

I have a plain brushed chrome Zippo which I bought 45 years ago and stopped using 15 years ago I bloody love it. It's a bit of a Trigger's broom as the lid became detached from the hinge. I sent it to Zippo without its guts and they fixed it and sent it back with new innards. I haven't smoked for those 15 years but I can't bring myself to give it away. I could never bring myself to carry it in my EDC. Weirdly this is part of my current EDC.

Nah it's for poking down the end you light, roll around the roach don't add it after.

Yeah I used to roll with the roach in too, but I always liked to use it to push the roach outwards to firm it up. I poked the end of the J down with the discarded cigarette filter usually

An ‘M’ roach rolled well will expand to fit and make up for any slapdash tucking if you’re trying to strap up in the rain behind the bike sheds..

Double-barelled roach for the win, spiralling in from both ends in opposite directions.

Downside is that it has to be slid in after rolling.

Upside is that it looks super cool, prevents any vegetation in the mouth and makes a very nice "flat" mouth piece like a posh cigarette holder or tin whistle.

If you need to poke down the end you light you're not rolling well enough. A few little taps should get any loose bits down and avoids the over-compacting you get with poking....

Yeah, I don't actually poke anything or it gets too tight, but I always roll roach in, with a backturned bit in the middle. Actually I don't roll shit anymore, I just sprinkle a little bit in a rolley and use a filter.
