• The EDC subreddit does just make me think it must be terrifying living in the USA.

'Work Carry' - two knives and gun.
22M, Essentials - gun with 2 magazines and a knife, then just a wallet and watch.
28F, Student - Gun, Knife, Laptop.

  • gun with 2 magazines

I always find this bit the most amusing. I guess you can just about conceive of a scenario where you may need a gun for self defence but I'm not sure of what the scenario is where they're picturing themselves needing the second magazine.

  • When they've emptied the first magazine into the wall and need a 2nd to continue defending themselves.

    OR

The scenario of being attacked by a coach load of aggressors who need to be defended against.

  • Once you have killed a few school children and the police has cornered you can still have enough to shoot yourself.

  • not sure of what the scenario is where they're picturing themselves needing the second magazine

It's easy to carry a reload, you might as well. Yes, it's a tiny probability that it will help even among the tiny probability that you'll ever actually draw your gun, but it's such a low incremental cost that once you've decided to carry, it would be pointless not to go the extra mile.

  • Die Hard syndrome,
gotta protect Nakatomi Plaza from Alan Rickman and his squad of henchmen.

  • Next election?
