The last couple of days have been dire. The current elevator music is wow bad.

Ah so that's where he went. I only started listening to NTS shortly before his departure. Flo and Zakia are pretty good as replacements though.

Lamacq seems to be forced into a corner of playing one rap/hip-hop track in every show.
His choices (or those of his producers) appear to be entirely arbitrary.. like they hit shuffle on a playlist called “inoffensive rap music’s lesser known singles”

Not BBC6 but sad-times with Worldwide FM shutting down - was a lifesaver in lockdown, hope it's resurrected in some form soon

Worldwide FM
Yeah, what happened there? Feels a bit sudden. Is there a back story?

recently bought a small portable digital radio so been listening to r.6 for the first time, while there seems to be a playlist it's still a good mix of old and new, stuff you've never heard and stuff you haven't heard for a while.
especially liked tom robinsons chill out selection last night, a perfect end to the weekend, nice way to wind down on a sunday night

There’s a few great djs on there. Each one brings something different.
Mah - love techno Tuesday
Jamz on Saturday afternoon.
Tom Robinson on SundaysThere are some artists they have on repeat. My favourite thing about 6 is that you never really know what they’re going to play next.

Ride's Leave Them All Behind sounded pretty good as well. It's been years since I heard that!
If only I had Spotify!
