How can I stop my shoes rubbing heels and causing bearable blisters?
I wore some Clark’s suede brogues to a job interview the other for about an hour. I have two blisters on my left heel and one massive one on my right

Wear shoes in gradually before wearing for a long period.
If you have to wear them without an adequate wearing in period then there are loads of blister plasters which you can put on in the places where shoes rub. They swell before you blister.
Apply them when. You

You could make the heel areas supple by moisturizing them with suede conditioner and squishing them with your thumbs.

It’s weird. These particular shoes are really soft. It doesn’t matter how tight I tie the laces I still find my heels are moving enough to cause blisters. Will try adding plasters prior next time

That was me, I've had my RW Chukkas done twice there and Moc toes once.
Decent job, was about £60 quid last time, but well over 18 months ago though

whats the sole? I've always found Clarks a bugger to break in... if the soles aren't flexing enough yet then this could be the problem, try bending them with your hands for a bit... might work?

Doesn't look like the soles should be super stiff but this might work

Looking to replace some Church’s espresso brown Chelsea boots but their latest offerings aren’t really doing it for me. Front runner are Trickers Henry but open to suggestions? Commando sole over a dressy smooth style.

From the photo you posted below, it looks like your shoes are too stiff and aren’t following the movement of your foot as you walk. You’ll need to fold your shoes in half about 10-15 times before you wear them to loosen up the sole and increase the flexibility. Surprisingly you can really force decent shoes a lot and get the flexibility in them. Keep doing this each time before you wear them until you feel you don’t get any rubbing.

I really want the RM Williams Commando Gardener boots but they were only made for one season and can’t find a pair in 10.5.
I might go for the Cheaney veldtschoen Chelsea boot instead. But hanker after the Williams because of its one piece construction.

Nice one DJ, I didn’t think of Cheaney’s, the mocha ‘Grayson’ look good.
Matches in the sale reduced by by 45% and I also had a further discount code.
They are ludicrous, suede on the underside of the straps, leather sole with rubber inserts etc etc. I wanted something for smart meals when on holiday and general louche living.
