No queue at the oxo tower.
loads of stewards and cops though.

Yeah when I cycled by Southwark park this morning there was obviously no one anywhere near there but plenty of security and an obscene number of crowd control fences all neatly lined up to be used.

Unreasonable disruption for local residents, far, far too much media and TV coverage, millions of pounds and thousands of hours of police time wasted, all just so the plebs can watch a bunch of rich idiots larking about? I for one am glad the football's cancelled

so many stewards, police and army people around central london, are they expecting the blue rinse brigade to kick off after necking loads of sherry
they didn't even put that many police on the streets for the may 1st / anti capitalist riots

Perhaps they were expecting more of a revolt.

Imagine being in charge of the seating plan for the funeral. Bet that is going to take a few goes to make sure nothing kicks off.

In Canada we have 24 hour coverage of people standing in line. Mindless babbling by tv talking heads…well of course it’s mindless because what the actual fuck is there to say about a bunch of people just standing there?
It must be nauseating level of saturation in England. -

Get rid of the security.
Nobody important to society is at risk, just a bunch of grovelling sycophants and hangers-on. -
• #3365
Have we had the live queue tracker yet?

'occupy.fired.farms' sounds like a coded call to action for some sort of uprising....

Thanks for that - I was about to go meet mates for drinks in London Bridge to celebrate her death, we're now going elsewhere.

Absolutely fucking bonkers.

That's quite the hot take. The only world leaders not there are those of Russia, North Korea, Venezuela, Nicaragua and the Taliban. Might be worrying about more than the cost of the leccy bill if someone bombed the funeral.

The live stream of respect is just fucking weird and slightly surreal. If someone steps out of line will the guards with swords have at 'em?

Off to the pub but looking forward to highlights on Respect of the Day at 10:30.

I find it actually uncomfortable to watch. I can't quite put my finger on why but there's something that makes me cringe.
Do you know Kevin Bacon?
