Interesting. I wonder if having a rear seat cowl (instead of the seat) means this doesn't apply. Being a loner I've always whipped off my passenger pegs and never had an issue. Good to know.
Took the Triumph for an MOT yesterday at the local garage I have been using for years.

They whipped off the seat incase the MOT gods arrived for an inspection and proceeded as if it didn't have a pillion seat.
When I arrived and handed me the seat back with "what you do with it now is nothing to do with us"
