  • Took the Triumph for an MOT yesterday at the local garage I have been using for years.

Good bunch in there, "should" have failed because I removed the rear foot pegs and there is a pillion seat (not that I am insured for passengers), if you have a seat you need pegs (apparently)
They whipped off the seat incase the MOT gods arrived for an inspection and proceeded as if it didn't have a pillion seat.

When I arrived and handed me the seat back with "what you do with it now is nothing to do with us"

  • Had very similar with the various bikes. GN125 had pegs but no grab rail, but they agreed as a L-plater I wouldn’t lawfully carry pillions anyway.

DR350 has mega tiny LED indicators, but as the pillion provisions had been removed they could accept it would not be a problem.

    And so on…

It helps to go to the right testers. One of the guys I go to for the dirt bikes, hates loud exhausts. For loud bikes you go to the other guy who I assume is part-deaf and is not aware of dB.
