That whole incident was thoroughly odd. Pickford definitely should have gone, no idea what VAR was looking at.
Anyways having watched the foul back a couple of times I think I can see why a ref may have been given as a yellow, albeit a bad yellow. If it had been given as a red I don’t think anyone would have protested, though.

This is a much more reasonable analysis than your previous take. As a red I did a big intake of breath when they showed the replay. Would have been screaming for a red if that was roles reversed but I do think the lack of force probably helped save him. It was more of a block than a tackle if that makes sense. Very dark orange at best tho...
