ideal thanks a lot, so one of those plug things from back in the day essentially...if you've used them, should 50ft for example be no problem? cheers

I didnt have to read the legislation, thank god.
The answer from Decathlon was a resounding Yes. Refund or change the size, no exchanges.

Assuming you're not going to be using it for online gaming I can't see a problem. I run mine (TP-Link) to my shed on a 20m extension for music/videos on the turbo trainer, and another to where I WFH in the bedroom.

I used the TP-Link in the house but when I moved it out of the house (to my garage) they didn't really work; apparently due to having high power items on the same ring (which messes with the signal).
In the end I extended my mesh network with a couple of nodes.

I've been given a big zipped folder with some very, very long file names. I can't open said folder as the path is too long. I don't want to rename the files within the zip, assuming that's even possible, as it'll be a headache to rename/relink when done - the folder is half a terrabyte.
Will another zip tool work or would it work on mac (don't want to spend time copying if it'll get the same result).
EDIT: 7zip to the rescue it seems...

Any ways to patina (is that a verb!?) or stain stainless steel at home? I want to make something look darker/duller, or even a bit rusted like Corten.
I know it's possible with big baths of acid and such and some kinds of electroplating the item in looking at is about 300 x 500 x 100mm so not that easily submerged, although maybe it would fit in an IKEA storage tub I have.
Also read that heat and mild acid might do something, but it's going to be living outside so the finish needs to be fairly hard wearing.
Open to paint finishes but as I understand it many won't really take on stainless.

In the market for new frying pans. So many different parameters and ways of describing the stuff.
Which of them will not give me cancer? Is 'PFOA free' enough to get me in the clear? Are the ones that you can chuck in a washing machine any good?
I've got the budget to allow for one of those expensive un coated steel or copper pans. But I can't shake the suspicion that they are just another one of those over hyped things that a small group of men get excessively excited about – like selvedge denim or those egg shaped barbecues. -

The fried food itself will give you more cancer than any of the pans.

Just get 2, one non stick for gentler cooking and a stainless steel one for anything else.
-
• #114136
Yep. Decent non-stick for when you need non stick and not too much heat. Cast iron for searing stuff.
-
• #114137
Cast iron is where it turns into a hobby.
-
• #114138
Ceramic ‘non stick’ is our current option.
It’s a compromise between stainless and teflon in terms of stickiness, seems pretty durable, and are quite easy to clean up. -

Ha! But also...bikes?

Westerham is not easily accessible by train.

I've got a staub one which can be pretty much washed like a normal pan. Coated in some type of enamel.

Thanks for the suggestion! I can't really make that work on public transport though unfortunately. Will pencil it in for the rare occasion I have access to a car though, looks great.

I read in a thread the other day how to get round paywalls for newspaper articles, but didn't absorb how, or indeed which thread. Any ideas please?

Turn off JavaScript, try https://12ft.io/ https://archive.ph/ or https://archive.org/ For FT search for the URL & follow link in search results.
There are various browser plugins/extensions. Or you could pay for the article you want to read.

Thank you, the 12ft.io worked.
It was an article about some schools considering a 3 or 4 day week due to the current climate. I just didn't want to pay for a Telegraph subscription! -

Geo charts generally give me headaches.
But in theory there should not be a big difference between these two forks when running different wheel sizes, correct? The 50mm rake fork also is 9mm taller axle to crown.

Probably won't actually be the same head angle if the frame is unchanged and the tyres are equal F/R in both cases. Reduce the head angle by about 0.5° for the longer fork. You still won't notice the geometry change as it will be swamped by the tyre effect, but you might as well get it right 🙂

Steel bike. Not very durable powder coat. Best option?
Was going to galv spray it then do the classic inner tube and cable tie job.
Any better suggestions/reasons why I shouldn’t?
