  • Can fit longer stem ;)

  • Finally got round to building this up, was thinking of selling the frame or sending it off to convert to a road frame - we shall see.

  • ^ what he said.

  • So good

  • yep superb

  • Amazing

  • tasty

  • New forum fave

  • That stay.....

  • Not to my taste

  • First draft of my langster (thanks so much @Maj for the frameset 💖). It needs gearing down, some bottle cages and some aesthetic tweaks but really happy with it after 55km just now.
It's likely to get mudguards and potentially a front rack at some point for doubling up as a commuter.

  • It needs gearing down

    HTFU!

    Looks great tho

  • Ty! You might be right tbh, thought the gear was big but it's <75". Reeling at this news

  • Straight into the pantheon of forum greats.

  • Looks fit like this.

  • Banger! Great bike / sticker job

  • Any suggestions for brake levers? Finding it difficult to set these Tektro ones up comfortably. If I want a flat transition from the bars, they end up pointing up a fair bit. Are the TRP ones any good? Something that would allow me to adjust the lever reach to accommodate my tiny hands would be ideal.

  • I went for SRAM S500 which I believe are reach adjustable

  • Something that would allow me to adjust the lever reach to accommodate my tiny hands would be ideal.

It would be better to change the bars, the smaller bend radius below the lever of a classic bar inherently reduces the stretch to the lever. Like WhitleyJay, I'm a fan of the OG SRAM shape found on the S500/S900 levers. I don't use the reach adjust, but it's there if you need it.

  • You can always put a wedge in between the top of the lever and the bar. TRPs come with one as new, but the end of a soft grip clothes peg works quite well at a push. Obviously moving the lever closer to the bar for easier reach means the pull is less so you need to run the block close to the rim. The amount of people that say their brakes were crap after putting the little drop in spacer on shimano levers is unreal.

  • All good tips, thanks! Tester, I had these bars on my geared road bike for years and managed to get a much more comfortable set up with the Shimano brifters on there. Maybe I just need to play around with the set up a bit more before I spend any money.
