I think the omega 300m has an escapement on the upper left of the case?
-
• #66803
Yeah, it's the crown at 10:00 on the Seamaster 300M. Manually operated. Has always been controversial.

The seamaster 300 diver has .

I've only ever met one true saturation diver in my life. I'd be surprised if he gives a shit about tudor.
And those who do saturation diving buy cheaper watch (that does 500m/have HEV), than the fashionable watches.

I'll purposely stub my toe on the doorframe if any saturation diver has ever worn a mechanical watch while working

I imagine BITD there was a genuine need, but today, zero chance.
Adding some olive oil to a Casio bomber makes it functional to 1000m -

Going with the "slimline" Black Bay today. I hadn't noticed how thin the bezel is on this until I looked at it now.

How are you finding it? Looks like a GMT that might be in budget for me.
-
• #66817
Haha sure!
It wears pretty small which I like

I'm enjoying it. Cheap(ish) and cheerful, it's exactly what you think it is, an SKX GMT. The jubilee bracelet is fine, as good as it needs to be (solid end links!) and doesn't pull hairs. Case finishing is actually quite nice. Bezel is a smooth friction one, which is fine, though I probably would have preferred a bidirectional 24/48 click one. It's got some visual pizzazz going on - with the bracelet obvs, but also the lower half of the bezel is grey but kind of mirrored, and it has a date cyclops and a heavily bevelled crystal so you end up with quite a lot happening visually (the orange one is probably OTT/amazing). Will try it on one of my rubber dive straps at some point, just not gotten round to it.
I didn't instantly bond with it (I got it the same week as the white dial SPB313, which got all the wrist time) but it's definitely grown on me.
If you get on with the SKX sizing - relatively wide and thick but with short lugs - I think it's great value. AFAIK the next cheapest mechanical GMT is the Tissot one, which is twice the price.
There's one for sale upthread btw.

Or if the blue version takes your fancy, I'd sell mine (unworn).
I was thinking of modding it, but as you can buy all the parts I could go that way.

Anyone had an experience ordering from them?

This is Eco Drive, but pretty funky IMO: probably because of the similarity to my Superocean.

Likewise, that would come off instantly.
Yeah, true, same solution to the same problem as the Seiko Tuna.
