What time is it? Watches and horology

Ok, pics and thoughts on the night birch first.

I think it’s a beautiful watch. The black dial and lighter weight of the titanium case and bracelet makes it seem smaller than the white birch.

Wears really well, really does “hug the wrist”. Finishing is outstanding as you know and has that belter of a hibeat movement in it.

The dial is matte rather than glossy and goes from black-black to charcoal depending on the light. The texture is very apparent but it doesn’t compete with the hands and markers like it does on the white birch.

Really nice. The nicest of the birch models for me (though I haven’t seen the green one IRL). And it nails that GS thing of having its own identity - it’s clearly not a Swiss watch.

For my wrist personally I’d love it to be a mm or two smaller in diameter and with 20mm lugs but it still wears great.

Also I think it would look even better not in harsh boutique spotlighting. It’s a bit of a weird environment to try and get a decent shot of it.

Price is really punchy mind.

Also tried the mistflake (ugh) again.

Yeah, it’s too big/thick for me. Don’t like the old spring drive GMT movement at this price point. Great design, dial, and finishing though.

Actually quite a sick watch. Nice packaging. Comes with some Kosuke Kawamura artwork and a diagram showing which vintage Seiko reference each part was based on (he’s known as a collage artist, hence the watch itself being a collage).

Was planning to sell on the assumption that prices would likely be strong but now I don’t know! Might have to sell something else instead.
