It's a section linking up the top of the Col d'Albanne with Valloire
Think this is the segment https://www.strava.com/segments/32081917?filter=overallOnly a small bit of gravel but I'm sure there are endless routes in the Maurienne valley.

Is this your Waltly?

Yep.
At the moment though it has full mudguards, Rotor Inpower cranks and I have changed the Di2 junction and swapped to a hammerhead computer -

Test rode a route for an event here which is about 40% gravel (so approx 50km) and some of it is probably better on MTB than gravel bikes. Two of the others rode it on their normal road bikes with 28mm slick tyres. One puncture in 140km.

I rode today for the first time in a couple of years; for various reasons and most recently apathy. But to quote/paraphrase something I read on here recently "this is a privilege, enjoy it you miserable cunt". The ride wasn't epic but I remembered acutely why I enjoy cycling so much, especially on my own (refer to miserable cunt above). The route was one I got from Spoke Cycles near Codicote. I'm in no way affiliated to them but props for putting routes on your website (actually props to anyone who does that)
Back to the ride. It was a mix:
Grass/Gravé
Mud/Muavé
Limestone chippings/Limavé (horrible to ride on)
Road/RoavéSome of the scenery and moments were beautiful but I enjoyed those moments in the moment and didn't photograph them. But I did take a couple of shots.
I learnt that I need to remember how to dress and provision for a ride. I also learnt that 40/17 is an entirely inappropriate gearing for that mixed terrain riding.
The photo with my bike was supposed to capture a lovely looking, what I assume to be, stately home. But I'm not good at taking photos.

Sounds and looks great. Is this a repainted Tricross?
May I ask what fork you have fitted there?
Also, do the bars have backsweep? What model are they? -

Is that the tricross singlecross you bought off me?
Nice to get out. I might do it just now because of that quote

I know he's a bit controversial but has anyone tried the Rene Herse Fleecer Ridge or Oracle Ridge? Need something a bit grippier than I've got but that rolls well on tarmac.

That is really nice

Also, do the bars have backsweep? What model are they?It is a repainted Tricross (known as TrèsCross/Tres en Colère because I'm a miserable twat). I was going to add John Crab, from Hey Duggee fame, graphics but I never got around to it.
No idea abut the forks but they are carbon and have all the touring/audax accoutrements + disc brake tabs. I don't notice them when I'm riding, which is a positive. I'll try and find out the fork brand and where I purchased them.
The bars are Ritchey Comp Ergomax in 46cm. I like them. They were a good purchase.

I sold that Tricross on a while back and finally found the same frame in XXL. It's a bloody good frame for so many reasons.

I see. I'd like to see how it's doing. I would have kept if it had a longer head tube.

I'm having a bike built up with the Umtanum Ridges, which I understand to be the same as Fleecer Ridge, but 650b.
Give me a couple of weeks and I can review, but before then would be keen to hear any more on this, too.
Friendship over with ultradynamico mars. Now conti raceking is my best friend.
These things go brrr...
