if there was any actual link between fluid ounces and (non-fluid) ounces.
It's exactly the same as the link between the litre and the kg 🙂

Oh ffs, that'll teach me to be lazy and trawl through the first few search results of lazily written (likely AI generated) shite instead of going straight to Wikipedia.
My bad, as you were...

650b wheels on a frame designed for 700c
do i need 650b sized mudguards? or wide 700c ones with some spacers
-
• #114005
Think you probably want 1/3rd of a furlong by 3 7/8ths of a cup
Sorry

Grams in particular are a boon to surreptitious shrinkflation.
Looks like a hook but I’ll bite. How so?
-
• #114007
Depends on the external diameter of the tyre. If your 650b tyre is the same ext diameter as the 700C, like if you install fat bike tyres, then go with 700c. If it’s smaller, the curvature will be different, so you might want a smaller mudguard.

You can drop a few grams from say 49g to 41g and people won't notice but if you try and go from 1/4 scruple to 62/268 of a scruple people will see right through it.

I’m going to guess the (in my mind incorrect) premise is that in the case of price changing concurrently with quantity imperial units make the value—“price per”—calculation easier. Edit: it'll only get better once we return to guineas, crowns, shillings and farthings

Either will work, former obviously optional. You can re-radius steel mudguards and I think 26" is actually a bit of a closer place to start from, than 700c.

I got a mild shunt by an articulated lorry this morning in the middle lane of near stationary traffic and now the dented rear of my car means the boot won't open. No chance to stop and raining heavily so I moved on.
Should I report this ?
I got the reg number because I discovered the plate was still stuck to the back of the car when I got the opportunity to stop off the motorway. -
• #114013
Should I report this ?
Probably yes. Not because the plod will actually do anything, but because having the report on file at the cop shop might end up being useful to your insurance claim.
-
• #114014
Yeah, especially as you've got the actual plate.

I just bought some new canti bosses for some cx forks. They come with little plates with the holes for the sprung little nodule. these seem to be held in place by the torque of the boss, you need to line them up by eye.
i might be wrong about this but my question is that undoing the canti bolt also undoes the boss from the fork? now i can’t get the boss out of the canti assembly. grr! -

Am I likely to be able to just walk into the bank tomorrow and withdraw ÂŁ2.5k?
Buying a motorbike and have never withdrawn that much before.

Technically both you and the truck driver have failed to stop and report a damage only collision. He could use the excuse that he didn't know there had been contact or he could use the same excuse as you. He could have recorded your car details and have already made a report. So in a nut shell make a report within 24 hours of the incident in person at a police station. You might be able to do it online nowadays, I don't know because I am a dinosaur. A bastard velociraptor but a dino nonetheless.

I used to take cash out with prior approval from my bank manager, they had a lower limit which didn't need approval which I think was ÂŁ2500 (Nat west). Was a few years ago so might have changed.

Thanks - will make a report .

Bank transfer not an option? They're generally pretty swift these days
-
• #114023
Yeah.
@withered_preacher I am 6’3, skinheaded and tatted which would probably put most off, I’ll also be wearing motorcycle gear and have a lid to swing around so fingers crossed I’ll be alright.
Will see what the bank say, actually only needs to be ÂŁ2400 as I got paid cash for a job today so hopefully keeping it below ÂŁ2500 helps.
If not then will need to renegotiate with the seller.
Think I remember having trouble doing a bacs transfer of £1800 when I bought my frame jig so that’s probably not an option.

This month the following teams revenue is:
Team 1 +10%
Team 2 -5%
Team 3 +20%What is the total growth?
10 - 5 + 20= +25%Or is it the total revenue for Teams 1-3 last month less total revenue for this month divided by this month?
Cheers.
