My walnut tree has fruit this year. And it's quite abundant (despite an army of squirrels helping themselves). It's been recommended that I pickle some. They sound terrible; anyone tried pickled walnuts?

Picklebacks FTW.
2 glasses, one of bourbon, one of the pickle water from a jar of cornichons. alternate sips.
Delicious.Or just neck one after the other. (booze first)

pickled walnuts
My dad's ones were always too much, but sweeter ones - say with a balsamic based pickle - are good. F&M do excellent pickled walnuts, so maybe pick up a bottle of those first.

They're a really old and traditional "delicacy". Dickens wrote about them. As with most things from Dickens' era, they are an acquired taste.
I used to fucking hate them as a kid but I love one or two with a ploughmans.

Walnuts are one of the things i most detest. Horrible squeaky texture with a disgusting metallic aftertaste. Once pickled they become amazing with a strong cheddar.
And that is why pickling is great. -

The only pickle content you need.

I was going to reply with the exact opposite. Absolute abomination of a drink combo.

The local veggie eatery/bar the gherkin serves pickles with most meals, has a £1 shot which tastes of half pickle juice half booze and had a drag queen on for their pride party who opened a jar of pickles with their bumcheeks.

Maybe I'm being a prude. I love heart. Can eat chicken hearts like sweets. Will give pickled heart a shot if I ever have the chance!
