Top Tip: Marmite PB blend makes for a passable stir fry addition in a no nuts or Soy Sauce emergency.

Tried a lot of 99/100% nuts peanut butters, best value for money by far and tastes really good, Asda's own one.
£1.50/340g (£4.41p/kg)

Any added sugar?

No Aldi 1kg own brand in store this week, listed sold out on their site. Getting by with a couple of 250g but it's a stop gap. Pray for me.

Plastic Fantastic. They need to do bigger tubs.
No Aldi 1kg own brand in store
Sounds like they do. Might have to pick some up and test it.

Check the pricing - last time I looked there was no price difference in buying the 1kg tub over multiple 250g jars.

1kg tins of ‘Proper Nutty’ made in yorksire 100% peanut butter for £4
in my local saino’s but on the deals shelf nowhere near the other stuff.only a few tins and they were all dented slightly, didn’t realise i had bought ‘smunchy’ version which is like smashed crunchy and not full on big bits of peanut.

Who makes their own here, and where do you bulk buy peanuts from? Is it as easy as blend peanuts until pb forms is there more to it?
I can see this starting as a money saving/quality improving exercise and end up escalating into an expensive nut/seed habit. Someone tell me it's still a good idea!

Clarence from Subtle Couriers might be on here?

I did for a while, buying 5kg bags of raw peanuts from Wilton whole foods, then roasting and blending in 1kg batches. Then Aldi started making their own brand and selling it for less than I could buy the raw peanuts. It tasted good but quite a bit of effort and not as oily as the stuff you buy.

it's a great idea and yeah high speed blender does it. only addition is a bit of salt. i usually only mildly blend a cup and put those to one side to be added later to make it crunchy. then do about 3 or 4 cups til buttery smooth. mixing it all in together. i have messed about adding chilli, tahini and other stuff in small batches. but basically just keep it simple and can add any additions based on end use.
often roast tray of peanuts when oven already on for other use. so saves energy ther too.
we got a 25kg bag of raw peanuts from Locavore two years ago and I am only now ready to get next order in. we bulk buy a load of stuff - rice, olive oil, tinned tomatoes, etc. big economy to be had and massively cuts down on packaging.
now and again I will treat myself to some gourmet PB or other nut butters when at a particular shop I want to support.

not a wholesale account dude. can't remember what the minimum order was then (about £300) but we got a pallets worth of various things in one go. so spent over that. food delivered on proper lorry and pallet truck. but we didn't have to pretend we were a business or anything. though we might well do that for alternative supplier this year.

Lidl do a great version of these when it’s USA week

Wilton wholefoods order arrived and first batch (just roasted) fresh out of the blender!
I don't have an actual food processor so had to make do with the nutri bullet type thingy I was given years ago which struggled but did an ok job. Consistency is a bit rough so I don't think it would handle getting it completely smooth.
Top tips for additions/recipes?

Question for those of you making your own peanut butter - how do you get it to actually blend? Having a go for the first time and I’ve been running the blender for about half an hour and all I have is powdered peanuts spread around the side of the bowl.
The code MONSTER will get you 15% off Butter Bike on orders over £12 from their website. As @nobrows ranking list shows, it's decent stuff.
