Tried nuud or similar?
I thought I’d give this a go when you mentioned it and I’m genuinely amazed with how effective it is so thanks for the enlightenment.

Good to hear! I just ordered a second round. Think the first 3 tubes last me a year or two but I've discovered that the funk gets worse as I get older 🙃

This is probably true yeah.
I've found a semi formal trouser in the same fabric but they are a size up, tempted to go for it as I'll be wearing a rolled cuff anyway.
I've gone down a massive rabbits warren of summer suiting, unstructured blazers and the rest. Need to drag myself back up out of it both, as I have about 40 tabs open in chrome.
As an aside some nice combos from universal works but all the stuff that can be worn as a suit is pretty much sold out.

I need a few non-iron white work shirts and prices for Lewins and CT have gone up quite a bit.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Or should I just wait to see if their prices for their 4/5 for £x go down again at some point?
Cheers.

I do feel it's hard to beat CT for the durability, cut etc. Usually a few codes going about as well? But then it is annoying if you need 1 or 2 but have to buy 5.

M&S do some nice ones for reasonable money l, nothing super fancy but their 'ultimate' ones were nice (back when I wore shirts) and come in +2 length, handy for my 14/12 scale size.

You see quite a few CT ones come up in their sales as well which generally gets the individual price down to the bundle price.
CT are the best of the non-iron shirts that I've tried, although I now just have a load unworn in my wardrobe.

+1 for M&S, the fact they do 2 inches longer for tall skinny gits like me is a bonus
That said, I’ve got one CT shirt for my birthday three years ago that was made to measure and it’s fantastic quality

What size neck and sleeve are you?
-
• #4262
When I say unworn I mean they have been worn a lot but no longer get worn.

A steer on who makes nice navy ribbed socks, not too thick, not too thin? Trawled John Lewis and Mr Porter but I’m not seeing what I want…

What's the forum's view on stone coloured work shirts?
Do they just look dirty?

• #4265
Like work wear style in undyed natural linen? Can look ok, super casual. Work - dress shirts? Would look bad imo

Any luck?

No. Formal dress / work shirt. Blue suit. No tie. Dark completion.

That reminds me, there’s a Drake's pop-up sale in town today. 10-7 @ The Music Room

I talked myself down from the ledge, really don’t need any new clothes. Did you get anything good?

Has anyone got any experience with genuinely good waterproof jackets? I've got an arcteryx thats great at keeping water out all day but its terrible at venting heat and pretty much boils me + any layers inside...
Its 2022 - surely there's some tech fabric thats completely breathable and good for this time of year? I figured if there was... someone on here would know.
If not, then I figure its probably poncho time?
-
• #4274
Nope, truly breathable truly waterproof jackets don't exist.
What do you mean by 'this time of year'? Do you really need a waterproof? Why not a wind jacket?
-

Poncho is truly waterproof. Rain jackets with meembranes like Gore-Tex are pretty much waterproof, however during prolonged rains or rain pours water will condense inside the jacket making it feel moist. This membranes provide some degree of air flow, however it’s worth to add that the flow stops as soon as it starts to rain and jacket gets wet.
I usually underdress when I’m hiking/biking and it forecasts rain. There’s really no good solution when it’s hot, humid and rainy.
I have a nice half placket shirt by Barena, the cuffs are tiny even on my skinny wrists, no room for a watch, maybe you are supposed to wear man-bangles and be a free spirit unencumbered by time?
Just looked at the prices though £200 for an OTP shirt??? mine was another Tk-Maxx bargain along with the Marni mohair jumper for £22 that the Mrs has claimed.
And what’s with all the half mast trousers? is it thing now?
