• In other news- the guy I was riding with yesterday wears a POC chest/back protector.

    We got chatting about it and he mentioned that there was no way he’d be riding what we were riding at the speed we were riding it without the armour.

    As someone who has cracked ribs and partially deflated a lung in a crash I admit I’m starting to think about it.

    Does anyone else wear more than knee pads when in high speed/high consequence terrain?

  • I wear a back protector, and most people I ride with wear at least that or a back/chest combo. I started wearing the back protector before I bought a full face helmet, partly because I use it skiing, so I already owned one. I've had too many ski crashes where a back protector would have or did help to not wear one biking aswell.
