The OD of a male thread is alway smaller than the nominal size, so M2 is possible depending the quality of your measurement, but there is also such a thing as M1.8
Also, there are alternative pitches. If you really want to know what you have, you need a pitch gauge and either a standard micrometer and some thread wires or a thread micrometer of the appropriate size.
I'd like to know what thread size the little bolts that go into the power2max battery cover are.
I measured one with my calipers and it looked near to 1.8mm is diameter of the threaded section. Would that be a M1.6 or M2? It seems unlikely it would be a size unique to Power2Max
