You can search a forum rather than the whole site, e.g. just search in "General"

I suppose checking 'Conversations' under 'Types to display' narrows it down further.
Apparently there's no general backpack thread so I made one, it's here.

And also - when searching for a thread like this ("backpack") what I get is a ton of results from the 'classifieds' section.
