  • It’s my bad I was trying to start a sailing word association pun-athon

    I have a sinking feeling.

It’s knot like you don’t know what you’re doing

    Then stupid auto correct

  • Haha ok, sorry for being sensitive! I do feel like I don’t know what I’m doing with it quite often so was ready to make the wrong interpretation..

  • I don’t think it is teak, but I’m not sure what it actually is. It’s not giving me any issues on exposed skin but I do wear a mask for sanding.

  • Had a go at glass blowing last weekend, freaking loved it. Would like to get stuck in properly but not the most accessible of hobbies… :/
    Some wonky tings I made!

  • Fun! I'm assuming you're planning a move to Oregon?

  • Havent posted here in a while. Got a proper job, so less making stuff (for a while).

A roundup of mainly recent things, remainders from recent craft fair.

Coathooks, upcycled steel and undetermined hardwood
Small bowls, cedar of lebanon and sapele
    Laser etched bowls, various
    Big wooden egg
    Small canvasses

  • That's it. Will be spending my days making spreadsheets from now on.

  • Little Bo Peep special for Mrs B finished ahead of time. As I suspected might be the case, Holly seasons considerably quicker when the bark is peeled off. Two more for friends shaped, sanded and linseed oiled, ready for fitting to sticks and finishing.

  • Cross post from https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/376069/, but I made an Adirondack Chair and it's the least agricultural thing I think I've made so far.

  • Making the banjo may be a little more difficult. Bloody impressive!

  • Fiddle would be more prevalent in the Adirondacks, you’d want an armless rocking chair for a banjo - though playing any instrument, save a tallywhacker would be a challenge in such a chair.

  • 4 x rectangular vases in production.

  • Made a tea spoon. Bit rough but 1st try and enjoyed the process.

  • This is great

  • Very nice spoon!

I had a go at whittling, really enjoyed it, but I couldn’t get passed the nearly stabbing myself severely all the time.

Maybe a chainmail glove for me

  • I started with gloves, then progressed to thumb pad things made of leather, found the glove made dexterity much worse and some cuts quite difficult.

  • Made a tea spoon.

    Nice.

Tap @moocher up for a nice knife wrap if he's still making them. Handy way to store all the different blades.

  • Thanks all. Bought a spoon gouge thingy as I'd tried 2 before this and snapped both trying dig out the bowl. I used a scalpel and gouge for this and then sanded at the end.

  • I made this hat 3 years ago. But it was a tad too small. Decided to stretch it out a bit a as sun hat for this weather.

Filled it full of water and forced it on my head for a few hours. Now it fit likes a glove/well fitting hat.
