Yeah, 61 days of lockdown - replaced with lots of localised lockdowns, which so far I have managed to avoid. Cases are on the rise here and we have the new variant in town so let's see how long it lasts...

Tested positive on Friday after dodging it for 2 weeks after my daughter brought it home from school, who gave it to my son, who gave it to my wife. I’d been home 2 days after watching the Tour de France and did a pre work test an there it was, that line. So far it’s been much milder than when I had Delta which tried to kill me. I’m just keeping fed, watered and rest when needed. Have lost half a stone and managed to walk the dog most days and finish a bike project off but not right yet by any means. Wife was positive for 8 days. She avoided all the other waves and was the only one not to get Delta. Thank the Lord!

Hopefully the return coaches from Dunwich will have good ventilation.

has anyone on here been to spain recently, while having had their booster more than 270 days ago? The entry requirements say if 270+ days since dose 2, proof of booster is required. No mention of 270 day limit on the booster, but you'd think it would be the same

No problems, just make sure you print off your health declaration and you’ll get through the checks much quicker.

I was there (into Malaga) this week, I 'think' as long as you're boosted (inc over 270 days, as mine is) they allow you in. I had the QR in my apple wallet, they scanned it and that was that (they didn't scan every passenger coming through on my flight)

Was talking to somebody yesterday, she got Covid a few weeks back and now meat and other food tastes weird. It seems that can still happen even with build 5.

All of my colleagues in Chengdu are in lockdown again. City of 16m people not allowed to leave their homes because of 200 positive tests.

Is that now just a saving face exercise of the government? They are usually not the types to sacrifice economic growth over peoples health.

No idea.. I'm "guest teaching" online at the tech university there in so far as a group of masters students are doing industry experience with my company learning the ins and outs of consensus mechanisms.

I did ask the question in a call earlier and these students usually speak pretty freely but because the entire city is "working from home" there are widespread Internet capacity issues in apartment buildings so we had to abandon the call because nobody could hear a word that anybody else was saying!

Does anyone know if you can get the vaccine over the counter yet? I had covid a few months ago, I’m only just feeling back to full fitness again and really don’t want to catch it again.

You can also just turn off JavaScript. Works for most paywalls.

I've not heard of Covid vaccines being available OTC yet, like other vaccines I guess it will change but for the moment only available via the NHS official route.

If you have some time and money, I know in most EU countries you can pay for vaccination (some friends from India paid in Paris on a work trip to France for example).
