Seen vaseline suggested, but that sounds a bit messy, and I don't want to invite any infection or dirt, as antibiotics course finished today.
Sudafed has antibacterial properties and absorbs like a skin cream. Vaseline works a trick but can be a bit messy if you apply too much. Moisturising often is the key.
