  • I’d quite like to set up my rim brake equilibrium for kid hauling.

Would need to be able to carry kid, her stuff for nursery, and my work gear (sometimes just a laptop, sometimes a bunch more clothes).

Would quite like to go with a front rack of some description to spread the weight out. Would ditch child seat at nursery post drop off.

Sound like a sensible plan? What front rack do I need?

  • Perhaps a Specialized pizza rack? I have done the nursery run before with little one’s usual rucksack on the top under a cargo net and a pannier underneath with my work stuff. Then left the rucksack and child seat at nursery and carried on my way.

The rack was a bit of a faff to fit, the mounting plates being not wide enough for the fork mounts when on the inside but too wide on the outside of the rack. Got it to work fine running it on the outside but with some diy spacers. Assume it was just a quirk of my forks (genesis vagabond).

  • Thank you. Did your fork have mid blade eyelets? Assume so as Vagabond is built for that sort of thing
