my pixel 6 has been much better since turning off some of the gestures (tap to start actions, tap to check phone, lift to check phone, flip to shhh, one handed mode)
and turning off the smart unlock features, which were activating the screen while it was in my pocket and doing random stuff like pocket dialing and turning on the torch, aeroplane mode etc. -

I've considered getting rid of the 6 for a 6a for the smaller size, but lack of wireless charging is a deal-breaker for me
-

I thought I had all that off but Google may have auto enabled it all in updates. I'll have to spend some time with the phone when I'm not dealing with all the house issues we have
-
• #22007
I always struggle to do that for some reason! My laptop doesn't seem to like my phone. I'm not tech savvy enough to figure out why.

Google Drive might work. Just thinking for audiobooks it might be a pain though? Can you play something, pause it and pick up where you left off a couple of days later?
-
• #22009
Normally you get a message on your phone asking if you want to give file access after you've plugged it in. If your usb port is a bit dirty it might plug in to charge but not file transfer in which case you'll need to clean it out with a pin or something.
Otherwise, I'd probably go with a usb stick.

Ah ok, I'll have a look in to that, thanks!

I don't think you can bookmark audio books natively using drive, but there are apps that can stream from and bookmark

Yes I wish I'd waited just a bit longer and got a 6a

Shit, sold out. That's as good as the Redmi Note 10 which you should be able to get for £100 or so.

Got a Pixel 6a yesterday. The 6 seemed too big and the bulgy back off-putting.
First impressions are good.
The fingerprint in screen is a bit weird coming from the back one on the 4a I upgraded from but I'm getting used to it.

MKBDH - Asus Zenfone 9: The New Compact King!
For those like me who love a small phone, potentially a good one?
-
• #22018
I got one.
Normally I would setup my phone from scratch but it's a lot of work these days so how did you do the copy thing? I'm sure Sony had a method for it but not loaded Pixel yet - does it have a migrate option during initial setup?
-
• #22019
Yep when you turn it on for the 1st time it'll give you the option to migrate everything by plugging in a usb c to usb c to both phones
-
• #22020
Yeah super easy, plug your old phone into new phone via usbc cable and it guides you through.
Only pain is logging back in to all the apps again after

If only I had a bedside table.
What's the easiest way to transfer audio files from my windows laptop to my Google Pixel 4a? Mostly music but I'd like to be able to get some downloaded audiobooks on there as well.
