  • Just had one of my best days in the mountains. Mountain guide suggested I should test my fitness with a 12km route with 1100m of up and 1100m of down. It's a mixture of trails, scrambling and a touch of grade 2 climbing at the end (perhaps 30m of vert). It's a high route too, peaking at 3000m.

    The goal was to get to the top in less than 3 hours and back to the town within 4.5 hours.

    Just did it in 3hr 0m 20s there and back. A near 1.5 hour PR for 2,000 vert meters.

    With apologies for the boast post but hopefully some of you guys will know that this is still slow AF so not really a boast...just delighted that the miles I have put in my legs in London seem to have paid off. This chubby Londoner might have some hope yet.

    I'm shaking like a leaf...might have overcooked it!
