  • File em.

    Lol

What as part of some authentic user experience to make me feel what it was like being part of the gold rush?

  • No. To fix Edwin's poor QC hehehehe

  • I've got a pair of naked and famous that are too long, going to send them over to denim doctor to get them taken up, will report back.

Also ordered some unbranded (18 oz, really slubby) from jeanstore, way too small so returning them. I'm a 30 waist and even taking into account new dad weight gain, these are taking the piss!

  • Tag sizes are never any use with raw denim, even when buying the same brand

  • Is it just me or have Edwin changed their lines? I’ve been wearing ED-55s for the last 8 years and now the (EU) site doesn’t list them?

And if so, any brand recommendations for an ED-55 wearer that ship to EU?

  • Maybe find the measurement details and see which current model is close to the ED-55.
i did this when buying some ED-80 online and wanted to check the fit, found them on the edwin EU site but you may get them on a retail site if they are no longer on the official site.
the ED-55 is a good cyclist jean as there’s room in the thigh but still some taper and the rise is decent (not quite high enough for ‘middle aged’ but not silly hipster low)

The Blackhorse lane E5 is close but maybe a higher rise, spendy but worth it.

  • A friend just asked me what is the purpose of this odd rivet on his jeans

  • Where is it? Bottom of the fly? Doesn't look like it keeps anything together, does it?

    I'd say vanity rivet

  • Loads of Folk selvedge in most sizes, blue and black, in Brixton TK Maxx. A couple of Edwin rainbow in small sizes, and lots of non-selvedge Nudie.

  • I’ve searched in vain for replacements for my Edwins. I bought two pairs a good number of years ago (think they’re ed-55 but would have to go check - they’re slim straight low rise) and both are at the end of their lives.

I keep meaning to take a pair to one of the jeans specialist and seeing if I can find a similar cut from another make.

  • Why not just replace them with the same? Plenty of good Edwin bargains on eBay

  • Lots of Folk in TKMax Orpington as well £40

  • Ive got a pair of naked and famous that are way too long. They just looked silly. Sent them in to the denim doctor to get taken up, so will report back on how that goes.

On the flip side, just ordered some studio d'artisan which are a fair bit shorter. Really looking forward to these.

  • If I want to get a pair of jeans tapered and am not interested in cuffing them, would it be a problem to have that done only on the selvedge side? Not a huge amount, but one of the authorities on the subject says that the shaping of the leg happens on the inseam and the outseam should remain untouched or distorted legs or fire or something will strike.

  • Just got a pair of these studio d'artisan the other week. I'm very impressed, weight, cut, everything is on point.

  • There’s a reason they’re the legit OG Japanese denim brand.

  • Just got my new BHL NW3s back from the tailor, beautifully made and a nice fit in a slim straight (new for me). Next time I’ll go with a slim taper I think (sorry @JB!)

  • Each to their own my friend, each to their own. We can’t all understand the superiority of a straight leg.

  • Indeed, I get bent all the time.

  • A question about British makers: I have and like my Blackhorse jeans, anyone have experience with Joe & Co? How do they compare with each other?

  • Last jeans purchase was 2015 for my Tellason. Always surprised how long it goes before I feel I need a refresher.

Just picked these up. Hopefully they treat me well.

  • TK max had Folk selvedge for £40 this week.

  • Any Nudie wearers got any info on how much they stretch out? Specifically, I've just got some Dry Selvedge (both Black and True) and the size feels good (tight, I need to do some lunges to stretch them out) but they're a little shorter than I'd ideally like - I wear 34" ED-55s which always feel an inch or two too long, so this time I tried 32"and I could do with them "dropping" an inch. They are long enough but without cuffing.

I'd rather not get longer and tailor them as the leg fits well. And as I said they fit well but tight on the waist so I know they'll stretch out a little. But how much?

  • I've been looking forward to taking these photos.
    About ten years of fun.
