Get new batteries for the exposure meter. Point. Rotate the aperture until the centre LED is lit, or move the shutter speed know until the centre LED is lit, check focus. Press Shutter. It's a great camera, easy and fun to use. Also, the longer the lens (literally), the larger things look in it. That's it.

Cheers, wish my camera wasn't so dodgy. Lots of other pictures but mainly double exposed.

i suspect i know the answer to this but has anyone got a lead on cheap 35mm colour film? I'm after any old shite to put in a point and shoot, but even expired film seems to be pushing the £15 mark and at that price i might as well buy portra

Cheers – I had seen that manual but it meant little to me on first glance. After some YTing, about apertures, shutter speed, etc, I understand it better.

now all I need is a lead on cheap film – ha. Once I develop the pics from the wedding I went to at the weekend, I'll try and post them up.

I haven’t got any film developed in a few years. Is filmdev still the best/cheapest postal service?

I still use filmdev (just sent an order to them the other day) - though it has gone up a little in price the last couple of years, understandably... I've also used Traia, Rapideye and Artful Dodgers in the past couple of years with positive results.

Filmdev is still my go to though.

I've been using Carmencita in Valencia but only because I'm not in the UK. Their service is great though; supply digital images to you and send negatives later.

Ha. I use that place too, as it is on my doorstep.

They had an awesome open day a few weeks back where you could play with the scanners and stuff.

Kentmere Pan 400 in Rodinal 1+100

These were for a friend. His dad’s covers band are everything a dive-pub band should be. I wasn’t comfortable shooting the crowd so dodged that. Maybe in the future (when some trust is built) that will change.

These files were raw files from a Plustek, edited in Lightroom. I got quite a lot more midtone detail with jpeg/tiffs exported from the scanning software (Vuescan).

I can’t think of any good reasons to scan to raw/dng with film … unless using a LR plug-in like NegativeLab … but would love to hear peoples thoughts on that.

Thanks. It was super dark. f1.4 and 1/30s at points.

I quite like the light blooms. You can maybe see it best around the fairy lights? It’s a combo of shooting wide open and stand development I think.

inspired by someone upthread (can't remember who, sorry!) I picked up an old Zeiss folder. Relatively pleased with the results of the test roll (portra 400)—but does it look like I've pulled too much highlights through in post to anyone? Difficult to tell across multiple different screens whether these look blown out or not

Hey everyone! Used to be on this forum and sub a lot but took time away from photography.

Now I’m back and getting paid gigs which has given me some confidence in my ability. For one commission I need a tripod as I’m shooting on my makina plaubel 67 and taking portraits. And I’m looking at a three legged thing and also gitzo systematics tripods.

I do shoot video but right now just need a photo head. So definitely need something that can be changed when I change what I’m doing in the future.

It doesn’t need to be light weight, I just want it to last forever basically. I want to buy a tripod and forget about it. Needs to be something strong that can be used outside and also in a studio.

I saw this tripod. The Gitzo GK2380VQR Vintage 4-Section Aluminum. For sale in the Netherlands where I now live and I think it can be had for quite a good price I’m just wondering what you think of it? And if it’s got an equivalent to something more current. I can’t find much information on it and love the look of it. That’s not important but the three legged things kind of look too flashy and distracting for me. They look like the type of thing that would get stolen with all that anodising.

Just wondered what you thought?

I have a Giottos in the loft, its pretty decent, solid, I can dig out exactly what model it is, the heads is where things can improve drastically, mine has a decent ball head . . @platypus can add some wisdom I am sure.

I have found with tripods you really do get what you pay for, also a good ballhead indeed makes life a lot easier 👍
