  • Just picked up a new little bike. Been consistently riding the skatepark and ramps in se7 and now can justify a new (to me) bike….

  • That's super tempting... Don't suppose you'd swap for one of the BMX's I've got listed?

  • Few pics of (one of) my current projects. 2011 Fitbikeco Eddie v3. It was trans orange, but the lacquer had flaked off almost everywhere and water had got underneath it so decided it was time to address the situation. This is after the initial 180 grit clean up/rub down. Still got detailing/finessing to complete yet! Not sure of final colour - have some chrome shiv forks and sky high bars - so we'll see how things work out :D

  • Did this go to ebay yet?

  • Sorry. Just saw these notifications. Sold I'm afraid

  • This was my old bmx (a very Robinson frame, make for racing) which is now used as a town hack by my old man… not to my taste now but enjoys ripping about on it, eccentric but he likes it that way 🤣

Solid machined round bar as the seatpost due long tubes bending too easily.. other parts as it was when I used it..

Some might know more about the frame?!

  • My latest acquisition. An S&M Hucker (circa 2020).

It was originally pink, but the factory finish on these is awful and you can almost see the paint flaking off if you stare at it long enough!

I was gonna strip it and repaint in retro yellow, but in my impatience I threw some S&M and Fitbike parts on it (from the 'parts cupboard') to see how it looks and I love it! Just need to get a 33T sprocket and it's good to go!!

  • Beaut!

  • How’s this progressing? Classic frame - would like to see the finished build when you get there.

  • Do you mean the Fit Eddie? Well... I kinda nabbed some of the parts from it for the Hucker so it's looking a bit forlorn at the moment. I did try out various combo's (between black/chrome fork, bars, stem etc.).

I've also got a 2003 Fitbikeco Brian Foster (race frame). Uber rare!! Which needs a headset (1"), a DX V-brake, cranks/sprocket and then that's ready to go too!

  • My 2011 T-1 SFA got a few new bits recently.

If anyone has a pair of LHD profile 175 crank arms I'd be interested.

These are fit 165 and tempted to try a bit longer but would want to keep mine on case I don't like.

  • This looks great, something so good about the T-1 shape. What are those bars - look enormous!

  • Cheers! Frame is an absolute ripper. 21 inch tt.

The bars are snm perfect 10's. Off eBay recently for £35. I wanted to put the front load back on so they compensated for the drop but do look big, yeah.

Usually I chop the ends a bit but couldn't be bothered this time, however that's where the lever sits before the bend so I'd probably have to cut down the grips a tad. Doable but it wouldn't change the hand position so...

  • My S&M ATF 24" (does that count as little bike?), with good old regular Slam Bars. Deserves to be ridden more than it does, but great ride as you'd expect from S&M. And that's me at Rom at the We Were Rad event last year.

  • Yeah, was the rise more than the width that struck me! Not sure I’d be able to control the speed the front end pops up with that, as I’m so used to a longer lower set-up.

I’m getting on a bit now and tried a mates 22” wheel bmx - it was really nice to ride. If you’re no longer spinning much and just flowing around and trails riding it’s a good option for me I think.

[edit, this was in reply to Jameski!]

  • I'd definitely like to try a bigger one but only just got this one totally dialed in the way I want it.

Speaking of which, the ATF above looks rad!

Am aiming to get to Romford soon, safe pic!

Nice to see this side of the forum is alive, stumbled across it again by accident. Usually just do the classifieds and memes.

  • Thanks! I used to have a 1st gen Ahead Dirt Bike about 25 years ago, but I sold it as at the time wasn't riding it much. That said, it had the nicest geometry and handling of any BMX I'd owned, so the ATF 24" has the pretty much the same angles so it feels just as nice. There's a BMX day at Rom coming up in the Summer, so I'll be trying to head down there again for that, blow some cobwebs away.

  • That 24" looks awesome - and they're (S&M) are doing a 26" soon too. I thought I ought to post an update on my (ever growing!) collection. So... The Hucker is 'done' - put some Demolition cranks, Hucker grips and a springfield lever on it! The Fit Tech1 (2010) is also now done - has a Springfield brake and lever and Cult chain. And... The General Lee (1998) is just about done (has dual drive rear - DK Macho hub) but chain and brake needs a tweak. Finally... I 'found' an old S&M LAF (2005 - early one with chainstay AD mounts) - it was proper rough when I got it, but it should clean up and build into a nice bike (got some midways, profiles and a host of XLT parts to go on it)!

  • Flawless victory.

I had a 21 inch LAF once and I loved it. Swapped to a 19 inch Hamilton which was a mistake.

    Is that T1 a Ruben?

  • Yeah the LAF I have is 21. The Hucker is 21.25, GL is 21 and the Tech is 20. I also have an early Fit Brian Foster (2003 race version - v-brake mounts on seat stay) and that's 21.5!

  • Should scrub up nicely, I rawed mine and the metal looked really nice. Should have a picture somewhere...

Edit, found them: I still have these rims but they're sprayed black now. Lovely pink but bit flash, fly ones.

Action pic is over ten years old.

  • (S&M) are doing a 26" soon

    Interesting!

  • It's my buddies T1 skapegoat (2019 I think). He's just stripped it and transferred all the parts to his s&m Bonesaw. He's selling the T1

  • Nice! I have cleaned up the LAF since - only with wire wool and light grade paper. Might blast it in my buddies cabinet and see how it comes out :)
