You know you can claim back the penalty fare if you forget to tap in/out?
My card links to my employer so I now have constant anxiety they'll pull me in for repeated full fare days. I'm yet to be fined by the hi-viz folk but it feels inevitable. I spent the best part of 10yrs buying paper tickets and the adjustment to tappy tappy is proving very hard.

Just make an account for your card and apply for the refunds
https://oyster.tfl.gov.uk/Incomplete journeys
You can apply for a refund by selecting a journey and providing the missing information. You can make 3 application(s) per calendar month from the list below. You must apply within 8 weeks of the journey.Your refund will usually be the difference between the maximum fare charged and the advertised fare for the journey made.

You know you can claim back the penalty fare if you forget to tap in/out? But only a few times a month. It's easy with an online oyster/tfl account, even if you pay by bank card.
