I don't generally mind George Monbiot but this article boils my piss...
In the weeks after the earthquake/tsunami every single inhabitant of Tokyo, which is miles away from Fukushima, was terrified of the threat of radiation exposure, and the government sure as shit did not know it would be safe. It most certainly wasn't just brushed off and the experience has made me absolutely terrified of nuclear power, because it was quite obvious that one of the most fastidious and technologically advanced nations in the world absolutely had no control over it.

There's a group of scientists who think that Sizewell C is at risk of being submerged/surrounded by the sea during its operational lifetime.
I have no idea if they are right or not but standing on the high water mark from the 1956 floods and looking back to Sizewell B...it's not far!

Nobody sees it as renewable, but some green campaigners have come to see it as significantly better than fossil fuels. George Monbiot, for example.
In other news, some Tories have a petition going to get "Johnson stays" added as an option in the leadership vote. Keeping their finger firmly on that suicide button.
