Yeah this all definitely plausible. Banking on some people not chasing up a refund could net some cash, but on amazon, the refund process is so easy and swift that it's hard to imagine many folk not bothering.
It's a sad cruel world and I won't be very surprised if this does turn out to be a scam, but I'm still hopeful for a happy ending.
Fair enough the one thats in New York is hard to put a put a positive spin on... maybe its just taking the scenic route? But the one thats apparently in Northern Ireland, I'd give them a ring and ask if the parcel feels heavy enough to have an inflatable boat inside it!
