Rebuilding my favourite bike for the upcoming summer tour, after stripping it down to build up my Cantibolt.

Nice, where are you touring this summer?

Germany! Again. I quite like it there. Originally wanted to go to Scotland this year, but discovered the exorbitant ferry prices during the summer. That will have to wait for a later day.

Plan now is to take another dig at the Bikepacking Trans Germany trail, but this time the 'easier' part; along the Czech border, then up until around Berlin. Also want to include the Rennsteig Express.

Good plan! I haven’t heard about the Rennsteig but that sounds lovely. I’m in Berlin, holla at me if you wanna grab a drink.

The best bike on the planet. Very curious to see the end result of the built. :)

A crunchy bottom bracket, and a notchy headset; what could go wrong?

Wheels and tyres:

Drive train: 42/26 x 11-40.

They sent black cranks instead of polished, but can't be arsed to exchange them. Will probably look okay anyway.

Thanks again to platypus, this time for the bars. Snatched them up while visiting a couple years back. Now they're finally going to see some proper touring action.
