once this is all built it's going to the bike person for a service - then it will only ever go to a bike person for a service - i will be surprised if i ride this bike more than 20 times a year.
am not deceiving myself on this one - it is not being built to smash miles or do a tour, although it may have been inspired by one. it is simply to bop around the forest on, ride to the pub occasionally, maybe do an overnighter glamping one warm evening in the future.
for the most part it will get hosed down and stored in the shed for whenever someone says "we're going to the forest this weekend" and i have not been able to worm my way out of going with some lame exscuse like "im burned out", "i haven't got a bike" or "i'd rather watch real housewives of Beverly hills*"
(*season 2 was such a fucking banger, truly unreal television, season 3 is shaping up to be even better, i love this show so much, andy cohen is a genius)

You can obvs look at pinkbike etc for better used stuff.
There is NOTHING more liberating than being able to bleed your brakes, 100% essential skill IMO. Loads of good bleed kits around.
